Safety & Proper Use Guidelines

1. Maximum Pressure – Do Not Exceed 120 PSI

  • The Thumper is designed to operate with water pressure not exceeding 120 psi.

  • Operating above 120 psi may cause:

    • Cracking or rupture of the unit

    • Sudden separation at the connection point

    • Internal component failure

    • Possible water discharge or property damage

Always confirm system pressure before connecting the unit.

2. Water Only – No Air or Gas

  • The Thumper is designed for use with water only.

  • Do not use with:

    • Compressed air

    • Natural gas

    • CO₂

    • Chemicals

    • Any non-water fluid

Improper use can cause serious damage or failure.

3. Inspect the Plumbing System First

Before installing:

  • Inspect hose bibs, valves, and fittings for damage.

  • Do not attach to:

    • Cracked or brittle PVC

    • Sun-damaged pipe

    • Weak glue joints

    • Thin-wall or non-pressure-rated pipe

  • The vibration created by the Thumper may expose pre-existing weaknesses in aging or damaged piping.

If a pipe fails during use, it may indicate an existing structural issue.

4. Proper Attachment Is Required

  • Connect only to a free-standing hose bib or approved connection point.

  • Do not overtighten.

  • Do not cross-thread.

  • Hand tighten firmly and avoid excessive torque.

Overtightening may crack the housing or damage threads.

5. Do Not Modify the Unit

  • Do not disassemble.

  • Do not replace internal components.

  • Do not alter the spring or housing.

  • Do not use if visibly cracked or damaged.

Modifications void warranty and may create safety hazards.

6. Avoid Impact & Rough Handling

The Thumper housing is precision-manufactured using advanced polymer technology.

  • Do not drop.

  • Do not strike.

  • Do not expose to extreme heat.

  • Store out of prolonged direct sunlight.

Internal damage may not be visible but can reduce pressure tolerance.

7. Use Within Design Limits

The Thumper is:

✔ A pipe tracing vibration tool
✘ Not a leak detection device
✘ Not a pressure testing tool
✘ Not intended for permanent installation

Using the unit outside its intended purpose may damage both the device and the plumbing system.

8. Results Are Indicative, Not Guaranteed

  • Pipe locating depends on:

    • System condition

    • Water flow

    • Pipe material

    • Soil conditions

    • Operator skill

  • Results may vary.

  • The Thumper assists in tracing pipe paths but does not guarantee exact depth or location.

Always verify before excavation.

9. Monitor During Operation

  • Do not leave unattended while pressurized.

  • Shut off water immediately if:

    • Leaks occur

    • Excessive vibration is observed

    • The unit shifts or loosens

10. Commercial Use Disclaimer

The Thumper is intended for professional use by trained personnel.
Improper use may result in:

  • Equipment damage

  • Plumbing system damage

  • Water release

  • Property damage

Users assume responsibility for verifying system suitability before operation.
